New Jersey Security Guard Practice Exam

The primary function of a security patrol is to observe and deter criminal activity or safety hazards. This involves actively monitoring an area to identify potential risks and taking preventive measures to ensure the safety and security of people and property. By maintaining a visible presence, security patrols help discourage criminal behavior and foster a safer environment. This proactive approach also enables security personnel to respond quickly to any incidents or emergencies that may arise.

Other activities like issuing parking tickets, supervising events, or managing customer service inquiries are important but fall outside the central responsibilities of a security patrol. Their primary focus remains on surveillance, deterrence, and immediate response to safety concerns.
